Mumbai: Rs 75,000 collected for Purushothama Poonja's medical expense

Mumbai, Mar 27: The second payment of Rs 75,000 as contributions collected in the leadership of Ajekar Balakrishna Shetty, president of Ajekar Kalabhimani Balaga for medical treatment was handed over to Bottikere Purushothama Poonja here.

Purushottam Poonja is undergoing medical treatment for serious blood-related ailments from his temporary resident at Kadri Kambala, Mangaluru. An amount of Rs one lac was handed over to him on an earlier occasion.

Over Rs 75,000 were collected from Mumbai Hotel Papillon, Raghu L Shetty, Kottappady Laxmi Janardhan Brahma Sri Kala Balaga president, Mallika Shetty Kotrapady, Ajekar Kalabhimani Balaga’s regional committee president, Vijay Shetty Ajekar, Shaneshwara Seva Samithi Battipada Bhandup, Narayana Guru Bhajana Mandali Bhattipada, advocate Shekar R Shetty and advocate Dayanand K Shetty Mumbai.

Entrepreneur of Karkala Vijaya Shetty Ajekar and Purushottam's wife, Shobha Poonja was present. Advisor of the Balaga and Yakshagana artiste professor Bhaskar Kukkuvalli spoke of the contribution by Poonja to Yakshagana and wished for his speedy recovery.

As expensive medicines from abroad have to be bought for this rare medicine, he requested more monetary help for the treatment.
