Kundapur, Jul 26: A student from Hyderabad is suspected to have drowned while his companion was rescued by the local fishermen at Murdeshwar here on Sunday July 25.

The students identified as Kalim and Preetham were among 12 students from Hyderabad who had ventured into the sea for some fun times in the water. While the local fishermen were successful in rescuing Kalim, the search is on for Preetham, who is belived to be drowned.

Despite huge signboards cautioning the visitors being erected on the beach here by the civic body, the visitors seem to take the risk of swimming in the waters, especially during monsoon amid turbulent sea.

The local police have registered a case in this regard and investigations are under way. The local fishermen are patrolling the sea shore to trace Preetham.

These are so called educated lot who can read the signages. I deeply regret the loss of life. Outsiders must respect the views and advises of locals as the latter know better about the conditions than the former. May the departed soul rest in peace.

Nothing to say! why do students try to stop the nature's act? in this rainy season its a common sense not to go for swimming this isnt the first time but this has happened many times before.there should be a ban on students to enter the premises when its rainy season! because once they enter they are sure to get into the water n that is nt resistant for students!I pray for the drowned child and thank god for saving Kalim.
