Mumbai: Dr David Frank Fernandes elected honorary president of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike unopposed

Mumbai, Apr 28: “Dr David Frank Fernandes, identified as leading in social work, the language of Tulunadu and pro-culture organizations, honorary president of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike international unit, producer of Tulu films and prestigious entrepreneur of Dubai is elected honorary president of the Vedike for the fifth time,” said its founder Yogish Shetty.

Tulunada Rakshana Vedike has grown strongly in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts having youth units, women’s units and entrepreneurs units. It also has active workers in Dubai and other countries. Thousands of activists indulged selflessly in the organization. Frank Fernandes being an intellectual, fan of culture and language is working to make Tulu language grow at the international level.

A three-day-long Tulu conference titled ‘Taulava Uchaya’ was held recently at the Town Hall in Mangaluru under the guidance and cooperation of Dr Frank Fernandes. Thousands of people from the country and abroad visited the conference. The vedike has donated more than Rs 3 lac worth ration, medicines and groceries during floods and landslides in Coorg. It has been holding blood donation camps in association with blood banks of Dubai Latifa Hospital and other hospitals inside and outside the country for the last twelve years. Donations worth several lac were distributed under the leadership of the vedike to victims of cancer and other illnesses. Free food kits were distributed to thousands of people during corona lockdown.

Tulunada Rakshana Vedike is functioning successfully under the able guidance of Dr Frank Fernandes, under the leadership of president Yogish Shetty and with the involvement of office bearers.
