Mangaluru: Team B Human, Team IYC perform final rites of four men who succumbed to Covid

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 9: Amidst the chaos of the pandemic wherein relatives of the deceased cannot perform the funeral process, Team B Human and Team IYC of Mangaluru, performed the funeral of the deceased as per Hindu tradition in the presence of the kin. The impact of the second wave has led to the death of several people and caused mass cremation. However, there has been a situation where seven deaths were recorded in a single day. Due to which four people were cremated on Sunday and the rest three will be cremated tomorrow, given the non-availability of space in the crematorium.

Asif of Team B Human and his brother Suhail Kandak of the Team IYC have come forward and performed the funeral of the four deceased at the crematorium in Boloor, Nandigudde, Kadri simultaneously.

Team B Human has been providing Covid services since the initial days of the pandemic like hospital assistance, oxygen supply, ambulance services, food to stranded people or the patients at the hospitals, ration kits, distributing masks, prayer mats etc.

Team B Human is associated with many other NGOs which jointly works and renders service to the society 24/7 in and around Dakshina Kannada amid pandemic. The team has been in constant contact with the city's hospitals and needy patients, providing them with assistance without discriminating between caste or religion. Further, they are organising funerals for the deceased as per the required religious rituals.

Corona cases are increasing rapidly with the rise in the death toll. Cases of people dying in ambulances due to inadequate availability of ICU and ventilators has shocked citizens. Asif of Team B Human has humbly requested Mangalureans to stay home and adhere to all the required safety measures.

"It is a painful and pathetic condition in which the corpses of deceased are left unattended by their own family members due to the fear of the infection. In such a situation, each one should be aware and responsible to take all safety measures and precautions."

Asif Deals, Ashraf Kandak, Imran, Ahnaf Deals, Wahid and Team IYC, Suhail Kandak, Luqman Bantwal, Hassan Deals, Afreed, Bashir, Dikshit have been involved in performing the final rites of the four deceased who were residents of Bengaluru, Beltangady, Gurpur and Mangaladevi respectively.
