Bantwal, May 10: “Complaints of people travelling on road unnecessarily and violating Covid protocol are being received. They should be fined without sympathy,” directed Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik to concerned officials.

“There are complaints of shops being open during lockdown even though permission was given for the functioning of stores selling essential commodities. If the rule-breaking continues on Tuesday as well, document such violators and slap hefty fines.

He further asked officials to take stringent action against private vehicles plying unnecessarily. "Ensure that lockdown regulations are strictly observed,” he said.
