Bantwal, Jul 15: The municipal council in its ordinary meeting on Thursday has made the underground drainage system mandatory for all residential complexes within the council limits. The meeting was presided over by the council president Mohammed Sharif. Strict action will be taken for failure to construct them within the next three months.

Congress members alleged that the funds sanctioned for the council works are being diverted to the PWD. The president said that a letter in this connection will be written to the deputy commissioner.

Member Vasu Poojary urged to waive a month’s rent for shops in the commercial complexes in the council limits due to the Coronavirus pandemic. He also urged to issue title deeds to Barekodu colony residents.

Member Janardhan Chandthimar urged for a delegation to the DC against delay tactics in matters concerning the council administration. Member Ramakrishna Alva asked for CC TV cameras in the congested places where trash is being thrown.

Govinda Prabhu pointed out the strange advertisement for the purchase of CC TV cameras in the newspapers a month after buying them. The president clarified the point.

Vice-president Jacinta D’Souza, members Ramakrishna Alva, Gangadhar Poojary, Mohammed Nandarabettu, Monish Ali, Hariprasad, Vidyavathi, Lolaksha and Siddik took part in the discussions.

Chief executive Lena Britto, Buda member secretary Abhilash, engineer Dominic D’Mello, staff Razak and manager Leelavati were present.
