Kundapur, Jul 16: “I have neither insulted my community nor used derogatory words. I have not given any statement against my community in the media. I believe that community is equal to God. I have a lot of respect for my Konkana Kharvi community. I am proud to say that I am a Konkana Kharvi. However, in the press conference held by our community people, they tried to hide the truth and attempted to show me in poor light,” said sportsperson Sathish Kharvi.

Sathish spoke to the media at Hercules Gym of the town on Thursday July 15. He further said, “I have registered a complaint against four people who made false propaganda of my achievements. I have not accused the community at all. I have registered a case against people who falsely corrected my gold medal achievement in Kazakhstan as fifth place and shared it on WhatsApp. I have already submitted the proof to the court and the court has asked me to file a case.

“My fight is against the four people, who have made false propaganda against me and not against my community. But it is not right to twist personal issue as community issue by certain interests.”
