Udupi: Kasturba Hospital Manipal distributes masks to students writing SSLC exams

Udupi, Jul 16: Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, decided to distribute masks to the students attending the SSLC exam.

As part of the programme, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent of Kasturba Hospital on Friday handed over the masks to G Jagadeesh, deputy commissioner of Udupi district.

The Manipal Group was the first private hospital in the entire state to dedicate Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi to treating Covid-19 patients during the pandemic 2020. Now, these masks will be distributed to students on the exam day by the District Education Department for the benefit of all the students attending the SSLC exam as a safety measure.

The district Scouts and Guides will take the responsibility for its distribution to the students.

N H Nagura, deputy director of the Public Education Department, Udupi district, Dr Vijayendra Rao, district commissioner of Scouts and Guides, Udupi district and other officials were present.
