Udupi: Sode Math to raise natural forest in birth place of Vadiraja Tirtha Swami

Udupi, Jul 16: Sri Vishwavallabha Thirtha of Sode Vadiraja Math in Udupi on Friday, July 16 symbolically planted plant sapling for a project to raise natural tree forest on its 116 acres of land at Hoovinakere village near Kundapur. This land is also the birthplace of Vadiraja Tirtha Swami.

Speaking on the occasion Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty said, "The project of raising a natural tree park in Kundapur is a pride to us. Due to this project, a positive change will take place in the area. I am ready to provide any kind of support for the project," he said.

Several medicinal trees, fruit-bearing trees and endangered tree species would be planted.

Akshay Shetty and Sushma Rao after quitting their job, who started a 'Hasiru Nadu' will look after this project.

Assistant commissioner K Raju, Diwan of Sode Mutt Padigaru Srinivas Tantri, and the forest department were present during the occasion. Ratan Kumar compered the event.
