Bengaluru: ‘No confusion in BJP, Yediyurappa is our unanimous leader' - Kateel

Bengaluru, Jul 17: BJP state president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, recalled that during the corona first wave, Congressmen had spread malicious propaganda saying that vaccination results in loss of virility. He also mocked the Congressmen by saying that when the second wave worsened, Siddaramaiah secretly got himself vaccinated.

Kateel dismissed the notion that there has been a demand for the replacement of the state leadership within the BJP. "Yediyurappa is our unanimous leader. We have together accepted the fact that Yediyurappa is our leader. As the chief minister, he has been functioning well. There is no confusion in the state BJP. The state government has shown excellent performance in Covid regulation," he appreciated.

Kateel passed his wry comments at the Congress during the inaugural of the district executive meeting organized at Ratna Convention Hall in the outskirts of Kumbarahalli, Kolar, on Friday.

MP S Muniswamy, MLA H Nagesh and other district BJP leaders were present.

"Under the current situation where corona has posed so many challenges, if the nation had Man Mohan Singh as the Prime Minister, and Siddaramaiah as the chief minister of Karnataka, people would not have got vaccinations, and crores would have died," he commented. All along his address, Kateel singled out Congress for his criticism. He accused the Congress of neglecting the health sector when in power. He pointed out that the Congress had not improved the conditions and facilities in hospitals. He patted the state government and the central for working really well under these trying circumstances, and felt that Congress has to be questioned by the people for their total failures. He said that Congress, if it was in power, would not have got vaccines for coronavirus in the first place. By chance if they had given the vaccines, they would have played caste and religious politics in distributing the vaccines, he felt. He chided the Congress for being busy deciding on the next chief minister at a time when people are facing health problems. "When he was the chief minister, Siddaramaiah did not do justice to anyone. He rose to power r in the name of Ahinda and then forgot the backward classes. He never went to see when many backward people were murdered but he does not lose a chance to speak about Ahinda people," he remarked.

Nalin mentioned about the non-appointment of the national president and youth Congress president of the Congress party so far. "The party is indulging in low level politics in the matter of politics. The Congress is on fire. The house of Dalit MLA Akhanda Srinivas, was put on fire. Sampath Raj had torched the house. Sampath Raj wants Shivakumar to become the chief minister. Akhanda Srinivas wants Siddaramaiah to become the chief minister," Kateel ridiculed the Congress.
