Mangaluru, Aug 7: The night and weekend curfew is in place from Friday August 6 night. The curfew will come to end on Monday August 9 morning.

Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy and milk booths, and animal fodder will be allowed to function from 5 am to 2 pm. Unnecessary movement of public is strictly prohibited.

All gatherings including, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited. Marriages are allowed involving strictly 100 people adhering to the Covid-19 guidelines. Cremations/funerals will be allowed with 20 people.

Police checking vehicles

The police were seen strictly checking all the vehicles at entry points to the city on Friday night.

Very few people were seen moving around in the city. Only a handful of private and government buses are plying. A few shops are open and running their business.

It was also seen that people were standing in queue without maintaining social distance at Wenlock hospital to take vaccination.

    Stupid govt keeps weekend curfew and night curfew and then expects students to come school/University........ If cases have increased why is the educational institutes still working and to be honest there are students who have been infected by the virus but they haven't informed the authorities only because they will be kept separately When the decision of exams being conducted was online why is the mangalore University forcing students to COME COLLLEGE AND WRITE exams............ MBA students also got graduated online some engineering course had their online exams what's wrong for degree One of the most illogical stupid ideas by karanatak state dc

    Dear sir please get to know the issue first. All degree exams were postponeded in mangalore after dcs order. Students union like NSUI abvp staged protests in mangalore university demanding that the exams be conducted instead of postponeded so that the students from kerala don't have to come back again to write all exams. Hence after another meeting with dc and university officials it was decided to conduct the exams...
