Apex Court Defers Ayodhya Verdict Till Sep 28

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi, Sep 23: Supreme Court here on Thursday September 23 stayed the Ayodhya verdict till Sep 28. The apex court stayed the verdict while hearing a special leave petition filed by retired bureaucrat Ram Chandra Tripathi.

Staying the verdict which was scheduled to be out on Friday September 24 as per order of Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, the court also issued notices to contesting parties on the petition seeking stay on the Allahabad High Court order which refused to defer the verdict in the suit. It is also speculated that the deferment may be prolonged.

One of the three judges in the Lucknow bench, however, disagreed with the majority order rejecting the plea for deferring the Ayodhya verdict to allow mediation and gave a dissenting opinion that an amicable settlement could have been explored. Justice Dharam Veer Sharma, while not concurring with the view of the other two judges, Justice S U Khan and Justice Sudhir Agarwal also said in his dissenting judgement that he wasn't consulted when the three-judge bench gave the order while dismissing the plea for mediation. Sharma is due to retire on Oct 1.

In the wake of the deferment, the orders including closure of educational institutions and imposing of Sec 144 among others in the state too stands withdrawn.

what I feel, after looking at the situations out here and also keeping in mind about future betterment ,the said land should neither be given to Muslims nor to Hindus if at all this case becomes more violent after whatever the verdict is given by High Court. If the case is further proceeded to Supreme court I feel this controversial land should be confiscated by Govt of India and should be used for building hospitals, educa tion Institute or Orphanage which can make our country more developed and a country of progression rather making it a religious place which may lead 2 various communal problems in days 2 come .

I strongly hope the court may deffer its procedings 4 a month .India is hosting CMG whch is only few days ahead n let nt India loose its sportive spirit as a result of verdict n lets all hope dis wil turn out 2 b a successful n spectacular event ever, making India's banner flying high ..

No judgement in the Ayodhya title suit is a better judgement. There are hundreds of thousands of cases that are important for the citizens are awaiting to be heard and adjudged. They would make difference in our day to day life. Whereas this judgement can only bring more deaths and that too when we are going thru crisis in Kashmir and have problems like Maoist movements along with the Common Wealth Games. Absolutely no need for the judgement now. Let that judge retire and the case be heard again when time permits or put in the cold store. It will not make any difference to India.

This is turning like a suspense drama,
and the public is getting anxiety
attack about an issue which has
caused an eternal scar in India.

We need to pray and work together,
not to repeat the previous tragedy
    of bloodshed and death.

But, those people who were behind
    this political carnage must be
    severely punished because the
    instigators were safe until this
point, but the innocent people were
used as human sacrifice in the
    name of religion.

That kind of political game has
to be stopped from India, once
for all because the dead and
    physically deformed people were
    Indian citizens like the leaders,
and they had to suffer so much
    agony through the hands of
    unethical and coldhearted
    politicians.

I think Supreme Court has taken the right decision. The environment was not conducive for the verdict right now. Keeping in mind the CommomWealth Games and economy which is in recovery stage, this was not the right time for verdict. The deferment will also allow the parties engaged in title suit to solve the issue amicably. This is the right time to solve the issue by dialogue. Hope the issue is resolved and peace prevails.

Both parties involved are quite resolute in their stances of not allowing temple/masjid at the disputed site. It is silly to expect a solution. If only a compromise could have been achieved, it would have been arrived at years back.

All know that whatever be the result the losers will approach the Supreme court. So we should be bold enough to face the verdict and supreme court should allow it to be announced within this month. Also,to be noted is that Mr.Sharma, one of the 3 judges, would face retirement which could bring the whole process at the high court level itself to zero.

No more postponements please. CWG and other matters are anyways in such dire straits that no other issue can worsen them..Jai Bharath !

Well nothing much to say but just a similar question again when will all this stop? why are they blocking the lives fo other peopel aorund who are engaged busily!People working for IT companies cannot afford to postpone their meetings and work just bcz its an issue in India! This is a good example where the scare of hungamas is already known and the police will b there to catch hold of poor peopel n the decent ones instead of catching holding of people who actually can harm others! never can country proceed if it still wants to get stuck in caste /creed!
