Mangaluru, Oct 8: Chandrashekhar Poojary (44) from Yermal Mallakka Nattimane, breathed his last on Thursday October 7.

Poojary had visited his paddy fields on Wednesday October 6 evening to collect paddy stalks for customary puja during Navaratri. When harvesting the stalks, he was stung by some unidentified poisonous creature. He fell ill thereafter.

Poojary had applied some paste made out of some herbs at home before going to bed. On Thursday, when undertaking puja preparations for the Navaratri festival, he turned very tired and fell ill.

He was admitted into a private hospital at Udupi thereafter. The doctors who checked him said he was brought dead.

Padubidri police have registered a case and begun investigation. Poojary, who was an electrician by profession, was the breadwinner of his family. His sudden demise has left the family clueless about their future.
