Yadgiri, Oct 8: Even before the people of the district continue to struggle to forget the incident in which a married lady who blocked the sexual advances of a villager was torched after pouring petrol on her, comes the news that a first cousin raped his cousin, who happens to be the daughter of his father's younger brother.

The incident happened near Yellammana Gudda in Shahapur taluk. The girl filed a police complaint in Gogi station on Thursday October 6. On the same day the police arrested the culprit, district superintendent of police, Vedamurthy, stated.

The SP said that the youth convinced the girl to ride on the pillion of his motorbike. He directly rode the bike into the bushes where he raped her, the SP stated.

The girl explained that after reaching the bushes, the youth told her that he was enamoured by her for long and that now the time had come for him to materialise his dreams. The girl reportedly told him that she is his sister and therefore he was wrong to think about having any sexual relationship with her.

Even though she pleaded with him to allow her go, it is said, he forcibly raped her. Later, he also threatened to kill her if she revealed about this incident to others.
