Bengaluru, Oct 9: Solar rooftop power generation of 354 KW capacity set up at the Brigade Gateway Enclave, said to be the highest in the country among private apartments, was launched by Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The minister said entire society should move to install solar rooftop power generation to achieve sustainable development goals.

Self-Generation of Power is an important aspect towards realizing sustainable development. Any project or developmental work we undertake should not become a threat to the environment, the Minister stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of generating 100 Giga Watts of renewable energy in the country. Besides striving to contribute towards this, students will be sensitized about the importance of sustainable development as per National Education Policy (NEP- 2020), he said.

“With this solar power rooftop, Brigade Gateway has put forward one more step towards becoming a sustainable enclave. In addition to the apartment already having water recycling and waste disposal management, now has moved further to become eco-friendly by setting up solar power generation system,” the Minister said.

He appreciated the work of the Brigade Gateway Association for installing the solar power set up and congratulated for this. Mahesh Kumar, President, Brigade Gateway Association, Raghu, Executive Engineer, BESCOM, and others were present.
