Udupi: Kasturba Hospital Manipal organizes awareness talk on World Mental Health Day

Udupi, Oct 11: October 10 is celebrated as World Mental Health day worldwide. World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health.

The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

On this occasion, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, organized an awareness talk to patients, their dependents and General Public on 11th October 2021. Dr Abhiram P N, consultant at the department of Psychiatry spoke about Common Mental Health disorders, and Praveen A Jain, a Psychiatric Social worker of the department of Psychiatry spoke about the Management of Mental health Disorders. More than 1000 people benefitted from this program.
