Mangaluru: Auto rickshaw driver's death at home arouses suspicion

Mangaluru, Oct 13: Prashanth Shettigar (38), an auto rickshaw driver by profession, who was a resident of Talipady Golijora Neerapalke near Kinnigoli within the limits of Mulky police station, died under suspicious circumstances at his residence.

Prashanth was serving as an auto rickshaw driver at Kinnigoli for the last four years. He had gone to bed after having dinner on his return home at around 11 pm on Sunday. On Monday morning, he did not come out of his room even at 8 am. His mother went out to check and found that Shettigar's body was lying under his cot.

Liquor bottles were found on the cot. It is suspected that he would have consumed poison. Mulky police visited the spot, conducted checks and registered a case.
