Netrani island located in Uttara Kannada district is the only spot in the state where scuba diving facility has been provided. Because of coronavirus risks, this facility had been closed own for the last nearly two years. Now, the district administration has given permission to restart this facility. As the festival holidays have been lined up now, people are sure to make a beeline to Netrani.

Murudeshwar near Bhatkal is a place that is known for religious and tourism potentials at the national level. Murudeshwar has a statue of Lord Shiva with the maximum height in the state. Netrani in Murudeshwar occupies second place in the country as far as the scuba diving experience it provides is considered.

Many come to Murudeshwar for the specific purpose of scuba diving. As the district's corona positivity rate has slumped to below one percent and the corona cases are coming down, the administration has given permission to resume scuba diving with a view to give encouragement to tourism.
