Bengaluru, Nov 2: With physical classes in full being resumed in the state from Tuesday November 2, all the school children will be getting their midday meal cooked in the schools.

Already physical classes had been started for all the students including primary schools. But some were not getting lunch as facilities were not in place. Moreover, the primary schools did not have afternoon sessions.

From Tuesday onward, all arrangements have been made to prepare the lunch and serve the same in government and aided schools. Organizations like Adamya Chetana and Akshayapatra Foundation and some other voluntary organizations have also made preparations to serve midday meals from today onward.

The government has permitted all the classes from primary to PU to be reopened. But some private educational institutions have not yet started physical classes. They are continuing with online classes. From November 8 onward, they are expected to start physical classes.

Primary and secondary education minister, B C Nagesh, said that the resumption of hot meal programme has made the children and their parents happy. He said that the department has issued standard operating procedure to ensure that maximum safety measures are being followed in schools.
