Udupi: Paryaya Swamiji participates in 'Tudar' programme with backward community members

Udupi, Nov 5: 'Tudar', a programme organized by the social harmony forum, which is a unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), under the aegis of Admaru Math, was held at the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math. The programme was held with the participation of the people belonging to socially backward communities.

Paryaya Admaru Math Swamiji, Sri Ishapriya Theertha, speaking on the occasion, said that there is a need to understand our observations, traditional practices and festivals before following them as this is needed for the preservation of the religion. He also said that the idol is not a god unto itself but there is a need to focus and find god in the idol. He also said that is is better if rituals and austerities are observed after property studying them. He also blessed the participants of the programme.

The Swamiji also handed over the pictures of Lord Krishna, Tulasi garlands, lamps, earthen lamps, oil and blessed rice to the participants. He gave the lamps which were lit in the presence of Lord Srikrishna's idol, to be taken to light up their homes.

Vadiraja, Mangaluru division Karyavaha of the RSS delivered the introductory address. Udupi Pramukh, Ravi Alavoor, compered the programme.
