Mumbai: Senior journalist attacked with ink at Marathi literature festival by Sambhaji Brigade

Mumbai, Dec 6: Girish Kuber, senior journalist was attacked with ink by two activists of Sambhaji Brigade on Sunday, December 5 at the Marathi literature festival at Nashik.

The Brigade members allege that the recent book of Kuber has insulted King Sambhaji. Face of Girish was blackened by the activists as he entered the podium for an open-house debate.

Sharad Pawar, chief of NCP condemned the incident and said that in democracy any protest should be expressed through words and dialogues and not through ink.

The attack on Kuber was condemned by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, BJP leader Chandrakant Patil, NCP MP Supriya Sule and leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis.

Sambhaji Brigade’s state organizer Santosh Shinde urged the administration to arrest Kuber immediately for insulting Sambhaji.
