Mumbai: Four arrested for transporting beef in dairy product container

Mumbai, Dec 7: Palghar crime branch police arrested four people for illegally transporting beef in a container meant for dairy products. This incident occurred at Kasa in Palghar district on Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway.

The crime branch police acting on a tip off stopped the container for checking near the check post at Ghol village in Kasa on Saturday, December 4. To their utter shock, they found 21 tonnes of beef in the reefer container. The container truck was proceeding to Taloja from Tamilnadu.

The documents of the container said that the products that were in the container were dairy. The arrested accused are remanded to judicial custody till December 10 by the Palghar court.
