Mumbai: Rallies, protest march banned in city on Saturday, Sunday

Mumbai, Dec 11: Protest marches and rallies of people and vehicles are banned in the metropolitan limits of the city by the police. Section 144 is imposed for Saturday and Sunday.

The orders that were taken out by DCP (Operations) will be in force till the midnight of Sunday, December 12.

The orders are issued to prevent the spread of virus Omicron variant of Covid 19 and also to prevent any threat to law and order as per the statement given by the DCP. There was recent violence reported in the areas of Amravati, Malegaon and Nanded.

The order said that the offenders of the prohibitory orders will be persecuted under section 188 of IPC.
