Mangaluru: Movement of very heavy vehicles banned on Charmadi ghat

Mangaluru, Dec 19: DC of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Rajendra K V has issued an order banning the movement of very heavy vehicles on Charmadi ghat from 75 km (Charmady village) to 86.20 km (Dakshina Kannada district border) on Mangaluru-Tumakuru road along NH 73 (old NH 234) from December 18 till further notice.

Very heavy vehicles are prohibited on the stretch throughout the 24-hour period.

KSRTC red buses, six-wheeler trucks, four-wheelers, tempo traveller, ambulance, car, jeep, van, LCV (mini van) and two wheelers are allowed move on this stretch.

Bullet tankers, pick up cargo containers, long chassis vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, multi-axle trucks, truck-trailers, KSRTC Rajahamsa buses and all kinds of heavy goods transportation vehicles are prohibited from plying on the above mentioned stretch.
