Byndoor: Gold jewellery store owner alleges fraudulent dealings by manager

Byndoor, Jan 20: Owner of Maruti Gold Jewellery store at Ambagilu, Upunda, Udupi Nityananda Shet, has filed a complaint in Byndoor police station, alleging that manager of the store, Kasanady Gireesh Shet, in connivance with some others, has cheated him by manipulating account books and mismanaging gold ornaments and money, duly working in association with some others.

He said that as per the accounts, the shop's gold stock should have been 9,320.350 grams but the actual stock, upon verification, was found to be only 4,300 grams. He said that the accounts of monetary transactions have not been properly maintained and money running into several lacs of rupees has been diverted.

He also suspected that the accused might have taken away the gold ornaments to the house of a woman with whom the accused were quite close, and also to Bengaluru.
