Puttur, Jan 26: It is reported that a theft occurred in a house in Gundinaru near Belandur in the taluk due to the negligence of a lady occupant of the house. A case in this respect has been registered in Bellare police station.

Ayishat Hannat, daughter of Haneef from Gundinaru in Belandur was alone in her house on Tuesday January 25 afternoon. At around 12.30 pm, a stranger wearing a helmet came there and sought drinking water.

The stranger went away after drinking water. Thereafter, Aihyishat Hannat visited the house of her grandmother nearby when the stranger returned, entered Ayhishat's house, threw things around and stole Rs 22,000 kept under the bed which he found before escaping, Haneef said in a police complaint.
