Dharwad: Shettar not happy about allotting other than home districts

Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, Jan 27: The BJP has been experimenting with the system of making ministers in-charge of the districts. This time it has allotted districts which are not home districts of the respective ministers.

Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar feels that the representatives belonging to the districts should be made the respective in-charges. He said he will observe what effect the measure taken otherwise will have on the districts and then talk to senior leaders of the party.

He said that in his personal opinion, making people from other districts in-charge will not work well. He expressed that offering the same district charge would have been better for administration and development. He added that he has brought this view to the attention of the chief minister. At the same time, he observed that this being the party's policy and new experiment, he would prefer to wait and watch for the outcome before taking further steps.
