Puttur: Falling tree branch accounts for youth's life

Puttur, Feb 10: A youth died on the spot after the branch of a tree fell directly on him. This incident happened on Wednesday February 9 at Purusharakatte here.

The deceased was Batish Sultan (32), a timber merchant. When workers were cutting down tree at Purusharakatte, Batish was watching the proceedings from close by. One of the tree branches which the workers had cut and dislodged, fell directly on Batish.

Batish Sultan was a resident of Renjilady near Tingaladi. He was actively involved with several organizations. He has left behind wife and a three-year-old baby.
