Mangaluru: Ullal Uroos - Entry to beaches at night barred

Mangaluru, Feb 11: In the light of the annual Uroos planned to be held at Sayyed Madani Dargah at Ullal, the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, through an order, has barred entry of the general public to the beaches in Ullal and Someshwar areas of Ullal falling under Ullal police station limits from 6 pm to 6 am from February 10 to March 6.

Thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the programme, vigil is being kept and precautions are being taken in the area to ensure that unsavoury incidents do not happen and to maintain law and order situation. The restrictions apply to Ullal in Someshwar, Mogaveerapatna Uliya, Nehru Nagar, Someshwar, Uchila, Feribail Battappady beaches.

To supervise adherence to Covid rules, Mangaluru subdivision assistant commissioner has been appointed as the sector magistrate.
