Belagavi: Loco pilot turns hero, saves life of father-daughter from coming under train

Belagavi, Feb 14: As assistant loco pilot showed exemplary courage and presence of mind and saved the lives of father and daughter who slipped while boarding the train.

Ajmer-Bengaluru train had arrived at Belagavi railway station at around 11 am on Saturday, February 12. It halted for some time in the railway station. A father and his daughter had gone to fetch drinking water. As they were returning the train started to move. They tried to board the train but slipped and fell. Their legs were below the wheels of the train.

Anirudh Goswamy, who was the assistant loco pilot of duty ran towards the father and daughter and lifted them by hand in time and saved them from coming under the train. He received slight injury on his leg during the act.

The bravery of Anirudh, risking his life in saving the lives of father and daughter is highly appreciated by public.
