Mangaluru, Feb 14: Fr Anil Alfred D’Souza of Family Life Centre of the Diocese of Mangalore offered the holy mass on the ninth day of the novena and preached a homily.
He called on the congregation to pray for the couples. "In today’s society, we see the couples going for divorce for silly reasons. Marriage is reduced to just a contract. In the olden days the couple used to adjust and put on even if there were lot of difficulties and hurdles in their life," he said.
"We could see couple living together for decades. Though there were financial difficulties there was peace and happiness in the family. Fr D’Souza said, "Let the couples live such a committed life in today’s society. Let us pray for them, he said.
The choir group from Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi enhanced the devotion among with melodious hymns. Fr Larry Pinto conducted the novena.
