Puttur, Feb 17: The Hijab fire that has been raging through many areas also had its impact in the Uppinangady Government First Grade College in the taluk on Thursday, February 17.

Over 10 Muslim girl students of the college came to the college with hijabs on. Even after the principal asked them to obey the court order, the girls stood their ground of not removing the hijabs.

At the same time, various students inside the college expressed opposition to the wearing of the Hijabs. For some time, there was an exchange of heated words between the two sides.

After the verbal altercation, the college management declared a holiday for the college today and sent the students back home.
