Mangaluru: ICYM Volunteers of Saint Anthony's Church, Permai renovate dilapidated house

Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 20: The members of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of St Antony Church, Fermai undertook a pre Lenten service for a needy widow by repairing and renovating her dilapidated house which was completed and blessed on Sunday, February 20. The ICYM members, local parishners and members of the Church Betterment Committee participated in the programme.

The dynamic youth of the parish sacrificed their free time for the noble cause of the widow, which was highly appreciated by the locals. They ventured to raise the fund by collecting scrap goods from the houses and free will offerings.

Flavia D'Souza, head of the family, welcomed the gathering. Alice D'Souza, the elderly lady of the family lighted the lamp to initiate the program. Fr Louis Cutinha, parish priest of St Antony Church, Fermai blessed the renovated house and hailed the good work undertaken by the youth.

Divya D'Cunha, secretary, ICYM, gave a brief report on the work. Vijith Fernandes, president (ICYM) thanked the locals for their cooperation and generosity. Allen D'Sa conducted the program. The ward people and the members of parish pastoral council were present along with ICYM members.
