Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Mar 5: "Chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai has not provided any sanctions for Udupi district in 2022 -23 budget after knowing, only emotional factors gain votes for BJP in Coastal region," said Congress leader Vinay Kumar Sorake.

"Udupi district has been completely ignored by CM Bommai. There are no schemes to develop the economical standard of the people. GST amount of the state which is to be received from the central government has been ignored and is out of count in the fiscal plan. The budget valuation is increased based on the amount received from the central government. There was a demand for the initiation of Narayanaguru Corporation, but only four residential schools have been sanctioned. Siddaramaiha government had provided 100 crores for the minorities, but BJP has reduced all the funds. What has Udupi got even after having 5 MLAs, two ministers, central minister, and even after having a influential leader like BL Santhosh?" he questioned.

On the other hand Udupi district BJP president Kuilady Suresh Naik has stated the fiscal budget of 2022-23 as a balanced budget giving importance for the education, employment and empowerment. He said, "No additional taxes have been levied. More importance is given for the administrative development. Subsidy for the Kashi pilgrimage, APJ Abdul Kalam residential school, free coaching for NEET students, one Narayanaguru residential school each for the Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district, Punyakoti adoption scheme for perseveration of cow are expected to have good outcome in upcoming days."

Pejawar Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha swamiji has welcomed the budget with a glad. In a press statement he said, "Increasing the number of goshala's and increasing the grants for existing goshala's is a very good decision. Increase in appointment of veterinary doctors is also impressive. We are happy to receive this news. Salaries of the priests of the temple and establishment of cancer hospitals is a noble decision of the government."

CPI(M) Udupi district has stated that CM Bommai who ones was a incharge minister of Udupi district ahs forgotten the district in a short period. In a press statement Balakrishna Shetty, secretary CPI(M) Udupi said, "A very long term demand of the Udupi people to have a government medical college has been ignored. There is no mention of redeveloping Brahmavar sugar factory. No plans have been drafted for providing employment for the youths. Six MLAs and 2 ministers of BJP have failed to put pressure on their own government."

Fiscal budget of 2022-23 has erupted mixed opinions in Udupi as there is no notable sanctions received for the district.
