Beltangady, Mar 5: A case under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was filed in Beltangady police station. In this case, a 45 years old man has been accused of committing sexual atrocity on a ninth standard student.

The man who lives near Kadirudyavar village has been accused of enticing a ninth standard girl student, who happens to be the daughter of a local who works with the man, to accompany him to an unoccupied house. The girl said that the man sexually harassed her there. A case relating to the incident was registered in Beltangady police station.

In the other case too, the accused is from Kadirudyavar village. In this case, the boy had sexually used his nephew. The girl is in the eighth month of her pregnancy. Relating to this case, a youth aged 21 from Kuvettu village has been arrested under the provisions of POCSO Act.

The victim had visited the house of her father’s elder sister during July, 2021 in Kuvettu. When there was no one else in the house at night, the son of her aunt allegedly committed sexual atrocity. The girl had become sick a few weeks back and when the parents questioned her, she revealed what had happened. Thereafter a police complaint was filed.
