Udupi, Mar 5: Overwhelmed by the amount of loans he has piled up, a person from Kodange in Herga village, Manipal, ended his life on Thursday.
It is learnt that the victim, Yashodhar Shetty, had similarly faced the problem of clearing heavy borrowings in the past. As he was unable to pay off the debt then, his brothers-in-law had helped him by clearing his loans.
However, he again is learnt to have borrowed huge amounts from banks, finance concerns and private lenders. Frustrated by the crisis he was facing, he hanged himself on Thursday. A case relating to this incident was registered in Manipal police station.
