900 tonnes gold treasure in Karnataka – Union minister Joshi

Bengaluru, Mar 6: Union minister Prahlad Joshi said that the union government was stressing on finding the precious metal treasures throughout the country.

Speaking at the South Jewellery show, organized in the city, Joshi said, “It is estimated that there is around 900 tonnes of gold treasure hidden below earth throughout India. In addition, stress is given for locating metals like copper and aluminium.

“Auction process for the treasures that are already identified in Karnataka has already begun. After this process is over, we are confident to get gold of high quality.

“It is estimated that there is 900 tonnes of gold treasure in Karnataka. Attempt to dig it out from the earth and sell in the market is going on. In addition, there are copper treasures in the state also. Research is going on to locate them also.”

Ravishankar Guruji of Art of Living foundation was present.
