Kasargod: Golden birthday, 20th priesthood anniversary of Fr Melwyn Fernandes celebrated

Kasargod, Mar 7: Golden birthday and 20th priesthood anniversary of Fr Melwyn Fernandes, parish priest of St Lawrence Church, Permude was held on Sunday, March 6.

Fr Melwyn Fernandes led the solemn Mass that was offered on the morning of Sunday. Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest of Bela Mother of Sorrows church, Fr Claude Corda, Superior Fr Reginald D’Mello and other priests were the co celebrants.

Fr Melwyn Fernandes was felicitated in the stage programme that was held after the mass on church campus. Fr Stany Pereira, Fr Reginald D’Mello, vice president of church pastoral committee Cyprian D’Souza, secretary John D’Souza, Hilda Fernandes, mother of Fr Melwyn Fernandes, Ronald Fernandes, Xavier Mathias and others were present on the dais.

Assistant parish priest Fr Peter Fernandes, Fr Arun D’Souza, Fr Harry D’Souza, parish priest of Christ the King church Kayyar, J B Moras, parish priest of Narampady church, Fr Stany D’Souza, parish priest of Bovikkana church. Fr Francis Rodrigues, parish priest of Sacred Heart Church Vorkady and other priests were present in the programme.

Fr Peter Fernandes welcomed the gathering. The programme was compered by Fr Praveen Monteiro. John D’Souza rendered the vote of thanks.
