Mangaluru, Mar 9: Police Commissioner N Shashikumar has clamped prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC around 200 meter radius of all schools, colleges, educational institutes under the police commissionerate limits from 6 AM of March 8 to 6 PM of March 12.
The move comes as a precautionary measure following the ongoing hijab - saffron shawl controversy.
As the Mangaluru Commissionerate is a very sensitive region currently, inorder to maintain law and order the prohibitory orders have been imposed.
Gathering of more than five people, carrying weapons, taking processions, celebrations or raising slogans against government institutions, officers or carrying out any activities which will disturb the peace in the society or law and order is strictly banned, the police commissioner has said in a press release.
