Hassan, Mar 11: Two workers of a coffee plantation lost their lives due to elephant attack. The incident happened in a coffee plantation located in Kadegarje village in Belur taluk.

The dead were Chikkayya (65) and Eraiah (68). When they were working in the early morning hours, a rogue elephant attacked them all of a sudden, and they had no chance of escaping, it is gathered.

Locals are agitated over the incident. Personnel from Arehalli police station visited the spot. The people are overtaken by fear for their lives after this incident. The villagers are blaming the forest department for the inability of their officials to regulate wild elephant menace.
