Mangaluru: Skater Anagha Rajesh honoured with Keladi Chennamma award

Mangaluru, Mar 13: Anagha Rajesh, a well known skating talent from city was awarded with the Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma award for her outstanding achievement in skating on the occasion of International Women’s Day – 2022.

The programme was jointly organized by the District Stree Shakthi Federation, zilla panchayat, Karnataka State Women’s Commission, Dakshina Kannada district administration and Bengaluru Women and Child Welfare department at the zilla panchayat auditorium in the city.

State BJP president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, mayor Premananda Shetty, president of Tulu Sahitya Academy Dayananda Kattalsar, zilla panchayat CEO Dr Kumar and other eminent personalities were present on the occasion.

Anagha started learning skating at the age of four. She has taken part in district, state, national and international level competitions and has won 26 gold medals, 11 silver medals and eight broze medals at the age of 12.

Anagha is the daughter of Dr Rajesh Hukkeri and Dr Anita Rajesh, residents of Kadri Hills in the city. She studies in sixth standard at the Bejai Lourdes Central School and is trained by international skating coach Prateek Raja of Bengaluru.
