Mysore varsity confers honorary doctorate on actor late Puneet Rajkumar for philanthropy, cinema

Mysuru, Mar 13: Youngest son of the doyen of Sandalwood Cinema Dr Rajkumar, Late Powerstar Puneet Rajkumar, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate posthumously by the University of Mysore.

Puneet Rajkumar died on October 29, 2021 due to a sudden cardiac arrest. His death had led to widespread grief among his fans, family, nationwide film fraternity and the state in general.

The state government had given him the title ‘Karnataka Ratna’ posthumously in honour of his social work.

Now the University of Mysore has awarded him with the honorary doctorate in recognition of his contribution to cinema and philanthropy. The vice chancellor of the university said that this doctorate will be awarded in his honour during the 102nd convocation ceremony on March 22 in Mysuru.
