Bengaluru: Deve Gowda supports HC verdict on Hijab

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Former Prime Minister, Deve Gowda, has expressed the opinion that it would be in the interests of everyone if the judgement delivered by Karnataka high court on the issue of Hijab is accepted by all. He also opined that the government should not have allowed this issue to blow out of proportions.

"We should respect the judgement of the high court. No one should think about political mileage one can get out of the issue. Our party too firmly believes in this principle. The children concerned should get education. The government, by welcoming the verdict, has taken the right step. The statement of the petitioners to approach the Supreme Court is their personal opinion. Political parties should not calculate the advantage factor in such circumstances. Let us stop fighting between communities and live like siblings peacefully," he commented.
