Kasargod: Wayward car moves over people sitting by roadside - One killed

Kasargod, Mar 25: A car which went out of its driver's control moved over some people sitting by the roadside. In this accident, one person was killed and two others suffered serious injuries. This incident happened at Kotikulam within the limits of Bekal police station on Thursday March 24 morning.

S Vishnuprasad (19) from Tekkot in Kotikulam was killed in this accident. His friends, Nitin (19) and Shreelal (16), suffered injuries. Both of them were hospitalized. Vishnuprasad was working for a hotel.

The friends had attended a religious programme at the ancestral house in Tacheela in Kotikulam. They were sitting together next to a shop by the roadside when death approached them in the form of a car. The car, it is said, was moving at a high speed.

The Bekal police have taken the car and its driver into custody. Further investigation is in progress.
