Chikkaballapur, Mar 26: A mother-son duo was killed after falling into an agricultural pit on Friday March 25. This incident happened in Haralahalli village, Handiganala gram panchayat in Sidlaghatta taluk. The victims of the incident were Navalata (26) and her son Anjan Gowda (5), from Haralahalli village.
Navalata as usual had visited the family farm for some work. At that time, accidentally her son Anjan Gowda fell into the pit. The family members suspect that Navalata would have died when trying to save her drowning son.
But Navalata's mothier, Shobha, has given a complaint, alleging that her daughter and grandson had committed suicide by jumping into the pit because of dowry harassment Navalata suffered at the hands of her in-laws.
