Udupi: SSLC examination – No absence due to Hijab

Udupi, Mar 28: In the district, none of the students were absent for the SSLC examinations that began on Monday, March 28, because of no permission granted to wear Hijab while writing the examination.

In total, 13980 students were supposed to write the examination. Out of this 210 students were absent for various reasons including illness. Of the 210 students who were absent, 117 were regular students while 93 were private. In all, 13770 students appeared for the examination on the first day.

All students wore school uniforms. In 17 examination centres the attendance was 100%, according to the education department of the district.
