Udupi: Bantara Sangha extends monetary help to sportsperson Madhurya Shetty

Udupi, Mar 29: Madhurya Shetty, a village athletic talent, selected to participate in the international sports tournament to be held in France was finding the travel unaffordable. A programme to extend monetary help to her by Bantara Sangha was held at the Udupi district stadium.

Udupi district Bantara Sangha honorary president Jayakar Shetty Indrali said, "It is a matter of pride for all of us that Madhurya Shetty from the village is selected for an international event. She has grown to this level with her hard work. Students should keep trying relentlessly for their goal. I congratulate the teachers and the headmaster of the school who have extended support to Madhurya. The sports trainers in Udupi are identifying the talents of students, providing them training and helping them towards their achievements,” he said.

A cheque of Rs 50,000 was handed over by the Global Bunts Association and Rs 25, 000 by Udupi Bantara Sangha to Madhurya Shetty on the occasion.

Udupi Bantara Sangha president Purushotham Shetty, secretary Amith Kumar Shetty, treasurer Manohar Shetty Thonse, vice president Mohan Shetty, Udupi sports department assistant director Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty, headmaster Linga Raju and others were present.
