Bengaluru, Apr 2: Union home minister Amit Shah strictly warned state BJP leaders to draw a suitable action plan within April 16 in order to win 150 seats in coming assembly elections.
Amit participated in the core committee meeting that was held at the party office at Malleshwaram in the city on Friday. He further said, “Right now we have 120 members in the assembly. This should go up to 150 in the coming elections. Blueprint for the same should be prepared and submitted to national president J P Nadda, who will arrive to the city soon.”
It is learnt that Shah has asked the leaders to make suitable arrangements in constituencies which are not represented by BJP MLAs, so that they will be victorious in the next assembly elections. Reliable sources said that Amit has asked the leaders to field winning candidates from the party, if they are available, if not, to get winning candidates from Congress and JD(S).
It is also said that discussion was held about holding assembly elections before the completion of present term. But as per sources, BJP leaders are not interested to go in for early elections.
Sources also confirmed that no discussion was held in the core committee meeting about much expected reshuffling or expansion of state cabinet. However, it is said that Amit Shah might hold a separate meeting in this regard with chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. He has also said to have instructed state BJP leaders to discuss and take decision with regards to changes to present presidents of various corporations and boards.
