Mangalorean Lad’s Vavia Tech Wins ‘Red Herring Global 100 Award’

Daijiworld Media Network—Bangalore (CN)

Bangalore, Feb 1: Vavia Technologies, based in Santa Monica, California, and Bangalore, has won the prestigious Red Herring Global 100 Award. The award recognizes leading private companies from North America, Europe, and Asia, and celebrates these startups’ innovations and technologies across their respective industries.

Red Herring’s Global 100 list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs.

Vavia Technologies is owned by Mangalorean Alan Vincent D’souza. The company provides services that include web application development, E-commerce development, custom application development on PHP, ASP DotNET, Ruby on Rails and Python, search engine optimization services, PPC management and social media optimization. A complete list of the services offered by Vavia can be found on their website www.vavia.in . Recently, they launched a dedicated portal for SEO services named myseopandit.com

Born to Kinnigoli’s Violet D’Souza and Valerian D’Souza, 23-year-old Alan started as a freelancer at the age of 14. He started Vavia after completing his BE(CS) from PES, Bangalore. His elder sister Anita is married to Dubai-based Malcolm. Alan’s brother Edward and his wife Stephanie are located in New York, USA.

Vavia began full-fledged operations in 2008-2009 with corporate branding and then gradually moved to web application development. Vavia today works on helping businesses find new customers. In May 2010, Vavia was named one of India's top 25 emerging technology companies by ‘Smart Techie’ magazine.

“Choosing the best from the previous three years was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, chairman, Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed down our list from 1,200 potential companies to 200 finalists.  Trying to get it down to 100 companies was a task upon itself. Vavia Technologies should be extremely proud of its achievement, the competition was difficult.”

Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration.
