Gandhi family can go to any extent to get power: BJP

New Delhi, Apr 11 (IANS): BJP on Monday held the recent remarks of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray responsible for recent violence in several states during Ram Navami processions.

It also alleged that the Gandhi family can go to any extent to grab power.

Talking to media at party headquarters about recent clashes in a number of states during Ram Navami processions, BJP national spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra said that incidents like these happen when senior leaders like Gandhi and Thackeray make such remarks due to their appeasement policy.

Mentioning Gandhi's recent comment about the existence of Lord Ram, Patra said: "By questioning the existence of Lord Ram, Rahul Gandhi has shown that he pretends to be a Hindu only for electoral benefits. The UPA government had denied the existence of Lord Ram in an affidavit to the Supreme Court. Rahul Gandhi is following the same path of his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. People finished off the existence of the Congress in elections, and they will finish off Congress again."

Referring to the former Congress president's comment that he had no interest in power despite being born in its midst, the BJP spokesperson said, "These remarks were aimed at provoking people and questioning the existence of Lord Ram's underline his desperation for the power. The Gandhi family can go to any extent to get power."

Hitting out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Thackeray's remark that what issue the BJP would have raised if Lord Ram was not born, Patra said: "Opposition leaders can find thousands of reasons to attack the BJP but this is petty politics."

    "Gandhi family can go to any extent to get power" ???? Why was it announced during election campaign in 2014 that 'I will bring back the Black Money from Swiss Banks that is in the volume @15 Lakhs per each Indian, within 100 days of coming to power' ? For grabbing power, or to accept hermitage ?? What ? It's not yet 100 days since the man came to power ? Well, it's not any party member of BJP who should ponder over this, it's the people who voted the party to power. So people, did you hear of the Black Money brought in ? What is the man intending to do with it ? Distribute it to you voters, or make the Party even richer ?

    Congress ruled for 70 years and created assets which you are selling now to save your face and still the economy is in doldrums. Congress had little shame in them. Whenever there was any incident or uprising by the common man, the minister he or she would resign owing moral responsibility or apologise. You BJ peeeians do not even have that shame. You are a shame on humanity and a blot on democracy.

    Gandhi fly looks dwarf and crippled if one compares with the greed and the way govt machinery is used by BJP leadership currently. So many allegations of corruption laid by BJP for years. Despite in power, not a single case they can get to conclusion. Gandhi fly can not contest the polls at all, if a single case is proved. Either they are innocent or BJP has failed miserably to prove their corruption. It must be one of the two. Ask any BJP fan, one will get all kind of insignificant and baseless explanations, but not a straight answer for this simple question.

    Yeah, Congress is in power since 8 years by manipulating EVMs, by operation Kamala and by overthrowing well performing elected govt. You are a Sanyasi govt has no interest in power, crimes, violence, rapes and corruption as you portray yourself as holier than holy.
